It seems very cliche way to start this blog post like this, but I swear April flew by right through. Even though, it's not only April, I can't barely understand how is it that we are almost half way through the year when New Year's Eve was (in my eyes) yesterday. Time flies, what can I say. But enough with the old lady time perception, and moving on to the present.
Let's call April my back to the basic month. In other words, I was too lazy to give any real thought to my make-up and mostly relied on products I know I love and rarely fail me. I said mostly, because thanks to my slight *cough, cough* shopping addiction I did manage to try some new products that really impressed me.
Anyways, during April my skin really seemed to hate me. You know the drill, crazy break-outs popping at every moment of the day, sad hyperpigmentation left by the same visitors, and the complete intolerance to any kind of primers, foundations, tinted moisturizers, and it's derivates due to guess who...Yes, you got it, those same break-outs. So, I sadly put away any kind of heavy base and took out my beloved Make Up For Ever Full Cover Concealer in shade 5. This baby will not only help you cover ANYTHING, but it will also do so without aggravating any existing issues. Enough said. My others base saviours are the Clinique Airbrush Concealer in shade 04 for under eyes circles, Real Techniques Buffing brush to blend everything in, and Bare Minerals Touch Up Veil SPF 15 in Transparent to keep every in place. For my eyes I've also keep it simple with Clinique High Impact Extreme Volume Mascara in black, and Mac's Technakohl Liner in Purple Dash.
In terms of the new acquisitions, I was extremely impressed with Becca's Beach Tint in Raspeberry. The colour pay off is amazing, it lasts for hours and hours, very little goes a very long way, and it's size is super travel friendly. What else could I ask from a lip/blush hybrid? I have the feeling that I'll have to pick more shades for the summer. Another amazing product for my lips has been Jurlique's Love Balm, it's free of most nasties and full of natural ingredients that don't aggravate my overly sensitive lips while keeping them soft and hydrated. For my nails, the top coat of choice has been Dior Gel Coat, which seems a little overprice but gives amazing results (definitely replaces a trip the salon). Lastly, the gold medal for this month goes to Glam Glow Super Mud Clearing Treatment, it has miraculously clear my skin, is so amazing that it deserves it's own post (coming soon). But I'll tell you right now, with years of acne-prone skin under my belt, this product is worth buying!
On the other hand my wardrobe has been a bit boring and confused. I'm sure you can empathize with crazy spring weather, full of ups, downs, and surprise snow that makes moving away from your winter favourites a dangerous and adventurous task that will most likely result in a terrible cold. So I've tried to keep cozy with a light army style coat, lots of layers, my favourite scarf, and Daisy by Marc Jacobs (just to give it that little bit of hope that spring is actually coming).
